Boats at rest

I painted these old boats at Standard Quay on Faversham creek, on the north Kent coast.

It is a favourite place where boats and barges are restored, repaired and brought back to life once again, using floating dry docks.

As a youngster I would cycle out to boatyards, and spend ages nosing around and chatting to the workers and seeing their craftsmanship.
